[I did skip though, however it was a request. Instead of going onto Beatles Anthology 1 I was asked to go to Bob Dylan.]
Bob Dylan: Bob Dylan's Greatest Hits; Bob Dylan's Greateast Hits Vol II: 31 Songs
I think maybe there was the expectation of Bob Dylan's music changing my life, or something. But that didnt really happen. I like his music, but its not like im now in love with it. I like the sound, but im not crazy about it. Maybe its "mainstream" (because I know how much you like that word) but I didn't know that All Along the Watchtower was originally done by Bob Dylan. That was interesting. But there was song that struck me, though it was not positive at all:
Go 'way from my window
Leave at your own chosen speed
I'm not the one you want, babe
I'm not the one you need
You say you're lookin' for someone
Who's never weak but always strong
To protect you an' defend you
Whether you are right or wrong
Someone to open each and every door
But it ain't me, babe
No, no, no, it ain't me babev It ain't me you're lookin' for, babe.
Go lightly from the ledge, babe
Go lightly on the ground
I'm not the one you want, babe
I will only let your down
You say you're lookin' for someone
Who will promise never to part
Someone to close his eyes for you
Someone to close his heart
Someone who will die for you an' more
But it ain't me, babe
No, no, no, it ain't me babe
It ain't me you're lookin' for, babe.
Go melt back into the nightEverything inside is made of stone
There's nothing in here moving
An' anyway I'm not alone
You say you're looking for someone
\Who'll pick you up each time you fall
To gather flowers constantly
An' to come each time you call
A lover for you life an' nothing more
But it ain't me, babe
No, no, no, it ain't me, babe
It ain't me you're lookin' for, babe.
(Ignore the stupid weird spacing of the middle of that) But, even though the gender roles would have to be reversed, thats how I feel, most of the time. Not to anyone in particular. I just feel like it isnt me.
